A dog had to be rescued from the roof of a Colorado mall

File this one in the “how the heck did that happen” category… Somehow a dog got stuck on the roof of a mall in Colorado Springs.

Animal Law Enforcement officers from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region responded to the call at the Citadel Mall on Sunday (Aug. 2). Lila was coaxed with water before being muzzled for her safety and secured with a leash. She was lowered to the ground using a stretcher with help from mall security.

Officials reunited her with her owner, who said Lila was missing for six days.

There’s no easy roof access onto the mall’s roof, so it’s unclear how Lila ended up on the roof.
