A spiraling observation tower taller than the Space Needle proposed for Downtown Denver

The Denver skyline isn’t the most recognizable. Sure, we have the “Cash Register Building” but that’s it really. Well, that could be changing in a big way!
A spiraling 673-foot observation tower has been proposed for Denver’s skyline.
The proposed structure would become the fourth-tallest building in Denver and Colorado, and be taller than Seattle’s Space Needle (605 feet) and Dallas’ Reunion Tower (561 feet).
Plans submitted this week outline a sculptural, lattice-wrapped spire with an orb at the top. It would be located at 1546 California St., less than a block from 16th Street, where there’s currently a parking lot.
This isn’t the first time a very tall structure has been proposed in the area. A separate concept for an 81-story structure — taller than anything currently built in the city — was pitched in 2018. That project never came to fruition.
