The NFL Draft did not go the way former University of Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders wanted, and now his time in the NFL isn’t starting the right way either.
The Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback was cited for driving 41 mph over the speed limit earlier this week, going 101 mph police say.
Strongsville, Ohio police issued Sanders a citation at roughly 12:30 a.m. Tuesday (June 17). Sanders, who was driving a 2025 Dodge pickup truck with Colorado plates, was speeding on Interstate 71 northbound near Ohio 82, according to court records.
The citation is a fourth-degree misdemeanor, and Sanders is due back in Strongsville Mayor’s Court on July 3. Court records show he can pay a $250 fine to waive the case.
