The jokes about the Colorado Rockies being terrible are more stall than jokes about eggs being super expensive, so I’ll spare you, but this has to be a first… A guy is suing the Major League Baseball team in Denver in-part because they’re so bad!
A Parker, Colorado man sued the Colorado Rockies this week for negligence after he was struck in the face with a foul ball while sitting in a Coors Field luxury box back in July of 2023.
The suit claims the man suffered “catastrophic and permanent injuries” when he was hit in the face and right eye by a foul ball.
The man couldn’t see it coming because of “architectural elements including the ceiling of the luxury box and the overhang of the stadium’s bleacher seats,” the lawsuit states. It goes onto claim that the “defendant’s longstanding poor performance on the field (has) contributed to a game-day environment in which spectators, particularly those in luxury suites, are less engaged with the action on the field.”
In other words, the teams is so bad, no one wants to watch, and as a result, he got struck in the face and permanently injured.
The lawsuit seeks a jury trial and an unspecified amount of money for damages.
