2019 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

Mar 18, 2019, 2:33 PM

The Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville has announced the three inductees for the class of 2019.

From the Non-Performer category–which goes to writers, producers and others “behind the scenes” the nod went to Jerry Bradley, who storied career includes music publishing, producing and heading up the Nashville division of RCA Records.

From the Veteran’s category–which includes artists who got started in country at least 45 years ago, Ray Stevens, who straddled the line between humor and serious songs. Stevens best known song is probably the sweeping 1970 ballad “Everything Is Beautiful”, but he also released several comedy songs that became classics, like “Ahab The Arab”, “The Streak” and “Mississippi Squirrel Revival”.

And from a field that included Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Shania Twain, Brooks and Dunn were named inductees from the Modern Era category. Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn were one of the most consistent hit makers of the 1990s, well into the 2000s. They also toured numerous times to millions of fans and most recently have established a residency in Las Vegas with Reba McEntire (herself a Hall of Fame inductee in 2011).

In fact, Reba was supposed to host today’s ceremony but laryngitis caused her to cancel. You can see the whole presentation though by clicking below (or just fast forward to about the 58 minute mark to see Kix and Ronnie get announced and speak)
