Colorado’s newest outdoor concert venue, Ford Amphitheater, opened with three shows from pop-rock band One Republic this weekend. Reviews of the venue seem generally good, but people who didn’t go to the shows seem to be upset…
The City of Colorado Springs is reporting they received 144 noise complaints on the Ford Amphitheater through the GoCOS app, as of Monday (Aug. 12).
“Ford Amphitheater has been granted a noise hardship permit which authorizes it to exceed the City noise limits (City Code § 9.8.104) during the outdoor events identified in the permit,” a city spokesperson shared. “The hardship permit does not authorize the Amphitheater to exceed the noise limit conditions that were contained in the approved development plan for the property. The City will be monitoring events at the Amphitheater and gathering noise data to determine if an event exceeds the noise limit conditions on the approved development plan.”
