When Will Denver Get It’s First Snow of the Season?

Oct 3, 2023, 5:22 PM

Today is the first day that Denver has really felt like fall, so everyone is already wondering when we’ll see some snow. Obviously it’s nearly impossible to say, but we can make an educated guess…

The average date for Denver’s first snow of the season is Oct. 18, but the last few years haven’t even come close to that date!

In 2020, for example, Denver saw the second-earliest first snow on record on Sept. 8. The next year, however, the complete opposite happened when the city did not see measurable snow until Dec. 10, 2021.

Last year, in 2022, the first snow happened Nov. 4.

In other words, have your winter coats unpacked, but there’s also a good chance they’ll just sit there for awhile.
