We could be down to final days of Denver’s last drive-in movie theater

Oct 15, 2024, 5:05 PM | Updated: Oct 16, 2024, 6:03 am

There’s a decent possibility that we are down to the last few movies that’ll be played on the big screen at the Denver-area’s only drive-in theater.

We were blessed with an extra season at Commerce City’s 88 Drive-In this summer, it’s 48th, after the owners announced they would be closing the theater after selling the property in 2023.

There is still no word on when or if the drive-in is still closing for good, but if that is still the case time is ticking. The drive-in has historically closed in the early part of October, but dates have never been totally consistent, usually depending on the weather. With the extra warmth we’ve had this season, the theater could stay open longer than normal.

Currently the 88-Drive-In is celebrating by showing a “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice” and “Joker” double feature. Get more details on what could be the final showings at the theater here.
