Water World ranks among America’s best water parks again

May 4, 2026, 8:35 AM

Good news for Colorado thrill-seekers: Water World is making waves again.

The Federal Heights favorite just landed at No. 5 on USA Today’s list of the best outdoor water parks in the country. Not too shabby for a spot right outside Denver.

The rankings were put together with help from a panel of experts, then readers voted for their favorites. And honestly, if you’ve ever spent a summer day at Water World, this one feels pretty on brand.

This year’s top 10 includes parks from Texas, Florida, Indiana and beyond, but Colorado proudly held its own:

  1. Splashway Waterpark, Sheridan, Texas
  2. Splashin’ Safari, Santa Claus, Indiana
  3. Island H2O Water Park, Kissimmee, Florida
  4. Lost Island Waterpark, Waterloo, Iowa
  5. Water World, Federal Heights, Colorado
  6. Aquatica Orlando, Orlando, Florida
  7. Raging Waters Los Angeles, San Dimas, California
  8. Water Country USA, Williamsburg, Virginia
  9. Aquatica San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas
  10. Noah’s Ark Waterpark, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Even better? Water World opens May 23 with a brand-new attraction: Summit Canyon. The new area also features Lookout Tower, now the tallest point in the park.

So yes, Colorado’s summer flex is officially back!!
