The list of things a police officer in Colorado may encounter in a day is long, but wrangling loose chickens is still likely toward the bottom… Yet it happen for one sheriff’s deputy.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said on social media that Deputy Lopez responded to a report of loose chickens in the Jordan Road and Bluegrass Circle area and had to round up the birds.
Lopez ended up loading the chickens into the back of his patrol cruiser while waiting for animal control to arrive.
“We’re still looking for the owner, but the chickens are safe. If these chickens belong to you, please contact Douglas County Animal Services,” the post said.
