NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: An American flag is stuck in a plaque of names of the victims of the September 11 attacks at the North Pool memorial during observances for the eleventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks on lower Manhattan at the World Trade Center site September 11, 2012 in New York City. The nation is commemorating the eleventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people after two hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia and one crash landed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It’s been 18 years since tragedy shook the U.S.A. to the core. Do you remember where you were? What you were doing?

My mom and I were at home. She was getting ready for work and I was getting ready for school. My mom always watches the morning news and she turned on the T.V. like normal. We sat together in silence and watched the events unfolding in front of us for what seemed like an eternity.

Tuesday, 9/11/2001, the course of U.S. history changed. Today, we reflect and honor those who lost their lives. We may go about our daily business, but we will NEVER FORGET.
