U.S. Facebook users have until Friday to apply for $725 million settlement

Aug 21, 2023, 10:55 AM

If you had a Facebook account between May 24, 2007 & December 22nd, 2022 (and are in the United States) you’re probably eligible for your cut of a $725 MILLION settlement that Meta agreed to pay following a privacy settlement.

Meta was accused of sharing their users personal information to Cambridge Analytica and the amount each user would collect will be dependent on how many people submit their applications.  (if you’re eligible, you can apply here)

This is one of many issues Meta has been facing due to data privacy including a $1.3 billion fine in the EU and their Threads platform not being released in the EU because of those concerns.

The deadline to submit is this Friday, August 25th.
