Tornado watch issued for the Denver metro area Monday

For the first time this year, a tornado watch has been issued for the Denver metro area on Monday as incoming storms could bring severe weather, large hail, and the possibility of tornadoes.
The National Weather Service in Boulder has issued a tornado watch in effect for areas primarily east of I-25, excluding some northeastern plains counties, through 9 p.m. this evening. Tornadoes, very large hail, and strong winds are all possible with today’s storms.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop along the I-25 urban corridor just after 12 p.m. Monday, with a few isolated cells carrying the potential to drop one-inch hail and produce 60 mph wind gusts.
