This old phone booth in Denver will find your soulmate (supposedly)

Denver dating has seen it all: swiping, speed dating, and that guy at the brewery who wants to tell you about his 14er count. Now the city has a new way to meet someone, and it’s an old phone booth.
The Soulmate Booth opened Sept. 1 inside Empire Collective at 2936 Larimer St. in the RiNo neighborhood. Here’s how it works. You pay $10, step inside and pick up the phone. Then you chat with an AI voice for three to four minutes about yourself. Before long, the booth prints two photo strips. One shows you, and the other shows the soulmate it picked for you from everyone who has sat in the booth before. “The booth never forgets a face,” the booth’s website says.
There are a few twists. Your photo stays in the system, so if the booth later matches a new visitor with you, it texts you that person’s photo strip. That means you could get another shot at love weeks later. The booth also has standards. If nobody meets its compatibility threshold, you can leave without a match at all. Nearly 200 people had tried it by the start of October. You have to be 18 or older, and if you change your mind, you can text the booth to delete your info.
Just don’t expect a guarantee. The booth’s fine print says it “does not guarantee romance, chemistry, replies, or destiny,” and adds, “wrong numbers, no refunds.” It also promises that “you retain ownership of your face.” So it’s good to know your face stays yours, even if your heart doesn’t.
The Soulmate Booth is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Worst case, you’re out $10 and you’ve got a funny photo strip for the fridge. Best case, you’re telling the grandkids you met in a phone booth on Larimer Street.
