This Could Be the Final Weekend for the Last Drive In Theatre in the Denver Area

Oct 24, 2023, 4:50 PM

This last weekend we said bye to the Denver area’s only drag racing track, Bandimere Speedway… Could this coming weekend be the last for the Denver area’s only drive in theatre?

Back in June we learned that the 88 Drive In Theatre would be closing as the area was re-zoned to allow an 80,000+ square foot industrial warehouse to take its place. However, the theatre never said wen it would close exactly…

They still haven’t announced a closing date, but it sure seems as though it could be after this weekend. They’re currently showing the Taylor Swift Era’s Tour, followed by back-to-back Halloween movies. After Halloween is over, there’s nothing on their schedule, and with winter weather starting this week, historically that’s when the theatre has closed for the season… Only this time it would be for good 🙁

Admission is $10 dollars per person whether you stay for one or both features. Children under 12 always get in free. Tickets are only sold at the box office for that evening’s program. The box office opens at 7pm. You might want to get them just in case!
