Think It’s Time for the Broncos to Fire Nathaniel Hackett? Odds Say it Just Might Happen

Oct 10, 2022, 5:17 PM

Ask most Denver Broncos fans what they think is the cause of the team’s early season struggles and you’ll likely hear either head coach Nathaniel Hackett or quarterback Russell Wilson. The Broncos already made Wilson the NFL’s second highest paid player, so they have to figure that situation out. Hackett, on the other hand, could be an easy target if the team doesn’t shape up, and according to oddsmakers, it may happen sooner than later.

As messed up as it may seem, you can actually bet on the next NFL coach to get fired or retire, and Hackett is right towards the top of the list. According to Bet Online, Hackett has the second best odds to be the next coach to go, right after Arizona’s Kilff Kingsbury.

Kingsbury’s odds are set at +150, and Hackett’s at +200. For example, a bet placed at +200 in American odds (2/1 in fractional or 3.00 in decimal) has a 33.33 percent implied winning probability. Not good if you’re Hackett.

Hopefully the Broncos start winning and this becomes a moot point!
