Sure, you could dispose of your pumpkins from Halloween in a more ordinary way like trashing or recycling it next week, but smashing it sound way more fun, right?!

The Pumpkin Smash festival in Idaho Springs uses techniques such as mallets, baseball bats, launchers and slingshots to smash up your jack-o’-lanterns.

This year’s Smash is Saturday (Nov. 2) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to attend at the Idaho Springs Sports & Events Complex.

The event will also have food vendors, beer, booths, pumpkins and composting.
