The Denver Zoo has a new name

Jun 25, 2024, 4:45 PM | Updated: Jun 26, 2024, 1:30 pm

Let’s start this article by being real. The Denver Zoo is always going to be just the Denver Zoo. However, officially they’re changing their name, and it’s actually for a really cool reason.

The Denver Zoo will now officially be called “Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance.”

The name change is focused on integrating wildlife into future generations, according to a press conference.

Zoo officials decided to change the name and logo as a result of the more than 600 conservation programs they’ve sent staff and funding to over the past three decades. That includes 62 separate countries that are home to animals and habitats represented in Denver Zoo exhibits and enclosures.

The zoo has also moved away from traditional, gallery-like zoo exhibits to larger enclosures with fewer animals and more realistic habitats over the last decade.
