The University of Denver Hockey team is the equivalent of college basketball’s Duke or North Carolina. They always seem to be around in the NCAA tournament, and more often than not, they are among the final teams standing. This year is no different for DU!
The number three-seed Pioneers defeated the number one-overall seed Boston College 3-1 on Sunday night to win the NCAA Northeast Regional Final and punch their ticket to the school’s 20th semifinals.
Denver will face West Region number one seed and fellow NCHC-foe Western Michigan on Thursday, April 10, at 3 p.m. MT at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The winner of that game will then play for the National Championship against either Penn State or Boston University on Saturday, April 12.
The semifinal matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN2 Thursday at 3 p.m. MT.
