The Denver Broncos will pay Russell Wilson to try and beat them in 2024

Mar 11, 2024, 2:27 PM | Updated: Mar 13, 2024, 11:48 am

What will likely go down as the worst trade in NFL history, could even get worse for the Denver Broncos as Russell Wilson will get to play against the team that traded away a fortune to get him, and then gave him $85 million to go away after just two years, in 2024.

Wilson will be making a trip to the Mile High City after agreeing to a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the Broncos are among the nine road opponents for the Steelers in 2024.

The NFL has yet to finalize the regular-season schedule, so it’s unclear when Denver and Pittsburgh will face off.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Wilson is getting the veteran’s minimum ($1.2 million) from Pittsburgh, with Denver covering the remainder of the $39 million owed to the quarterback in 2024.

So in other words, the Broncos will be paying Russ, more than almost any player on their own team, to try and beat them next season. If he does, it’ll be just another reason the Broncos trade to get him from Seattle will go down as the worst trade EVER!
