Just when we thought the last drive-in movie theater in the Denver area was about to close, it has announced it’s about to open for the season instead.
The family who owned the 88 Drive-In Theatre at 8780 Rosemary St. in Commerce City said last summer that they had put the property up for sale and it was under contract to a new owner. There’s no word on whether that deal fell through or if it just isn’t happening yet.
Either way, it’s good news for movie-lovers in Denver, as the 88 Drive-In Theatre has announced it will reopen for a 48th season on Friday, May 10.
The Commerce City drive-in theater said it will be showing a double feature of “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” and “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are $10 per person, and children under 12 are free. Tickets are sold only at the box office starting at 7 p.m. for that evening’s program.
Many Denver concerts including Maren Morris are just $25 for ‘Concert Week’
