Colorado Rockies’ home opener is in danger of not selling out

I am no Colorado Rockies historian, so I don’t know this for sure, but it sure seems like every Opening Day game at Coors Field has been sold out. That could change this year…

Even years when we as fans knew the team was likely to struggle or the early April weather wasn’t great, Opening Day was that one game where the city rallied to sell out Coors and show the boys some love.

The Rockies have been beyond bad for a handful of years now, including the last three years where they lost over 100 games in each season. Maybe Rockies fans have finally had enough.

It’s still too early to tell what the weather will be like when the team opens at home against the Philadelphia Phillies, so maybe people are waiting to see, but it’s not sold out yet. As a matter of fact, there are quite a few tickets left.

Another problem could be the price, though. The cheapest nosebleed pair of tickets for the game at the time of writing this article is $66.25. As most Rockies fans know, if you wait a game or two, you’ll likely be able to snag those same tickets for practically nothing.
