The CDC Warns People in Colorado to Quit Kissing Their Chickens and Ducks

Sep 20, 2022, 4:18 PM

This is actually not the first time the press has been told to tell the general public to quit kissing their chickens, but clearly the other times haven’t worked!

The CDC has asked Americans to refrain from kissing chickens and other birds, as the animals can carry salmonella that can be transmitted through close contact.

As of June 9, 2022, the CDC found there have been 219 salmonella cases in 38 states,  including Colorado, which have been linked to backyard poultry.

I like to think it’s because people are handling their birds and not washing their hands properly, but if you are making out with chickens, you should really STOP!!
