Blake Shelton is on the talk show circuit to promote the second season of Barmageddon. He recently stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show and she asked the country star if he missed being a coach on The Voice. Blake answered in his typical, no-nonsense fashion. He admitted that he never meant to stay on the show for so long. He planned to leave after season 20 or 21. However, when Covid hit, he didn’t want to walk out and leave the show scrambling to replace him. Blake said “I didn’t have anything to do anyway, so I stayed a little bit longer. But I stayed too long to now miss [the show], I can promise you that. Well, maybe in a few years, he’ll change his tune. But it sounds like he is very content in his decision to leave.

Speaking of The Voice, we now have a premiere date for season 25. This is going to be a very special season because Dan + Shay will be appearing on the show as co-coaches! This isn’t their first time on the competition show though. During season 20, the duo served as Battle Advisors for Team Blake. However, this will be their first time in the coaching chair. I strongly feel this will be a very exciting season – especially since Dan + Shay can seamlessly bounce between pop and country. As coaches, they are going to have a fantastic opportunity to develop a diverse and multi-genre team. As for the rest of the cast, Miss Reba and John Legend will return along with Chance the Rapper. The Voice season 25 will have a two-part premiere: Monday, Feb. 26 and Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024 on NBC.
