Report Says the Casa Bonita Renovations Cost Nearly Four Times More Than Originally Thought

Jun 6, 2023, 5:13 PM | Updated: 8:44 pm

When I heard that the “South Park” guys who bought Casa Bonita spent over $12 million renovating the place, my jaw dropped, but hearing this number is just crazy…

The renovations required to restore and reopen Casa Bonita reportedly cost “upward of $40 million” according to the New York Times, which spoke with owners Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of  “South Park.”

“We could have rebuilt this twice as big, for half as much money, but we spent so much restoring it, like a piece of art,” Stone added.

This figure is on top of the $3.1 million they paid to buy the place.

In other words, expect those new fancy enchiladas to cost you a pretty penny when you finally get to go check the place out.
