Grab the tissues y’ all, because this story will tug at your heartstrings. Recently, a woman in Chicago who is battling cancer received the ultimate gift – meeting Randy Travis. Unbeknownst to Miss Randi Greenwood, her family recruited a local news station in an effort to pass on a simple request to Travis’ team. Keeping their expectations realistic, the family only asked for the country legend’s autograph on their mother’s favorite poster and perhaps a zoom call with the star. Well by golly, their efforts paid off when the “Forever and Ever, Amen” singer’s team initially confirmed they were obliged to honor both requests. Then came a shocking twist. Turns out, the originally promised web-based meeting was not happening. Rather, Mary and Randy Travis “zoomed” up from Texas to Illinois and met Greenwood face-to-face. The news crew, who helped in the arrangement, was on-hand to capture the magical moment when Mama Randi detailed how the icon’s music had personally influenced her and the strength she gained from following his own health challenges. Unsurprisingly, there was not a single dry eye in the building.
