Popular Chicago restaurant files plans for Colorado debut

Feb 23, 2024, 8:39 AM

Making good on their word last October to expand into Colorado, Chicago-born Portillo’s has filed plans for their first Colorado location which will be out near Denver International Airport (DIA).

Portillo's Hot Dogs

If you’ve ever been to a Portillo’s, you know they are top-notch at making Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches decked out with Giardiniera. Then, you’ll also probably be one of the first in line at their newest location which was proposed to be at the northwest corner of 57th Avenue and Tower Road in Green Valley Ranch near DIA.

Portillo's Italian Beef

The chain’s plan include a 6,250-square-foot restaurant on nearly two acres of land. Unfortunately, there is no timeline just yet – only the fact that the plans have been filed. But as someone who has been to Portillo’s every time I visit the Chicagoland area, I will be sure to post the updated timeline here as soon as we have it.
