Petition to stop Colorado’s second Buc-ee’s location has nearly 2,000 signatures

It seems like all of Colorado would love a second Buc-ee’s location… Until you threaten to put it in their neighborhood!

A few weeks back news broke that there was talk of putting Colorado’s second Buc-ee’s location on I-25 between Castle Rock and Colorado Springs, in the small town of Palmer Lake.

Before any plans have even really began, the folks that live in that area have let their feelings known, and their feelings are keep Buc-ee’s out of their neighborhood!

There’s an initial publication information meeting planned for December 3, and a hearing on December 12 to discuss whether or not annexing land for the project is even possible, but before it even gets to that, a petition on Change.org to stop the popular convenience store from being built has over 1,800 signatures.

Some of the concern expressed on the petition is the threat to the quiet lifestyle in the area, snow & ice, groundwater contamination, and criminal activity.
