Old Dominion, Edwin McCain return to Colorado for 2027 Ski Fest Benefit

Old Dominion normally plays arenas. In January, the country hitmakers are coming to Beaver Creek for a show with just 530 seats. Old Dominion and Edwin McCain will headline Rocky Mountain Ski Fest on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2027, at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. It’s about as close as you’ll ever get to hearing “One Man Band” without being in the band.
This isn’t your typical ski-town concert. Rocky Mountain Ski Fest is a charity event for kids and families dealing with pediatric cancer, and the concert raises money for pediatric cancer research. Over the two days of the event, Jan. 12-13, the festival will host 10 young cancer patients, who organizers call “pediatric cancer warriors,” along with their families. They get a few days away from hospitals and treatments to ski, hang out and spend time with the musicians.
“For a few days, these kids and their families get to step away from everything that comes with pediatric cancer and simply be together in the mountains – skiing, laughing, listening to music, and making memories,” said founder Mollie Case. She added that the musicians “give so much more than their time and talent.”
There’s a milestone this year, too. 2027 marks 10 years since Ski Fest was founded. It took a break during the COVID years and came back with the same mission. Pairing Old Dominion with McCain also works musically: one brings the singalong country hits, and the other brings “I’ll Be,” the ’90s ballad that played at pretty much every wedding you’ve ever attended.
If you want to go, the show starts at 7 p.m., and lobby doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available through the Vilar Performing Arts Center. With only 530 seats, they probably won’t last long. Beaver Creek is roughly a two-hour drive from Denver in good January conditions, so check the I-70 forecast and leave some extra time.
