Nikola Jokic, arguably one of the best Denver Nuggets players of all time (let alone the entire NBA), has been delaying signing a contract extension with the franchise thus far, but during a media day at Ball Arena Monday, let his intentions be known.
And fortunately for Nuggets faithful, that intention is to stay a Denver Nugget.
He made it clear that his decision to delay signing the extension this year was merely a business decision that will allow him next season to sign a 5 year $360 million contract which would be the largest ever in NBA history.
He said explicitly, “I’m gonna sign next year… If they want me.”
The Nuggets kick off their preseason this Sunday against the Utah Jazz and kick off their season Saturday October 24 at home at Ball Arena vs the Pelicans.
