Texas benefit concert

Last month the state of Texas was completely devastated by that insane winter storm. From Galveston to north Texas, the state left many, still, without running clean water and made going back home unlivable. Now some of the biggest stars in all genres of music, all hailing from the lone star state, will perform a virtual benefit concert for their beloved Texas. Along with his beautiful wife Camilla, Texas native & Oscar winning actor Matthew McConaughey will host the event live on his YouTube channel. From Willie Nelson, the lovely Kacey Musgraves, to mama’s favorite George Straight and Miranda lambert just to name a few. All proceeds will go to Texas nonprofits and McConaughey’s, “just keep living foundation.” The virtual event takes place at 6pm Sunday eve.

Is Gwen Going Country?

Gwen Stefani says that the story aspect of country music made it easier for her as a songwriter to crossover to country. But is she country? Well she’s had two, number 1 songs with fiancé Blake Shelton, to back that claim up, the most recent being, “happy anywhere.” The former no doubt singer, and “Hollaback Girl,” went on Kimmel the other night and said that, “songwriting in country music is masterful. The storytelling is getting across, the heart is getting across and the message. I just learned a lot and I’m so happy to be opened up to the whole genre.”
