Miami Beach breaks up with Spring Breakers

Mar 4, 2024, 11:29 AM | Updated: Mar 23, 2024, 7:42 am

“Its Not Us, Its You” is the message the city of Miami Beach is sending to potential Spring Breakers.

After several years of violence including shootings that left people dead last year, Miami Beach is putting new measures in place to help reel in any potential chaos seen in prior years and have launched a new ad campaign to let people know about it.

The somewhat tongue in cheek ad warns of new measures in place such as curfews, bag checks, restricted beach access, DUI checkpoints and $100 parking.

Every Thursday through Sunday in March they will also be closing liquor stores early and for several periods of time close parking garages entirely in South Beach.

Fortunately for Miami, when it comes to destinations Coloradans like to visit for Spring Break, it doesn’t even make it into the top 10.  A study released by Airport Parking Reservations shows instead that its cities like New Orleans, Las Vegas and Cabo that top the list.
