When Dunkin’ dropped the “Donuts” from its name seven years ago, it wasn’t because they were abandoning donuts…cit was that they’d evolved to be more than just donuts. But now, some stores in Colorado DON’T have donuts.
Dunkin’ locations in several states haven’t had any donuts dating back to last week, because they’re dealing with a “temporary supply shortage.”
Those stores had signs up saying that the shortage was due to a, quote, “manufacturing error.” There aren’t any specifics, but it sounds like one of their suppliers dropped the ball and they didn’t have a back-up plan.
FOX31 called several stores in the Denver area, confirming that they were without donuts. One store employee said the issue should be resolved Wednesday.
Apparently, about 4% of Dunkin’ locations were impacted, and they’re expecting the stock to be replenished this week.
