If you needed sporting goods right now, where would you go to get it? I imagine most probably said Amazon, and that’s why we’re in the situation…
Big 5 Sporting Goods has around 20 stores in Colorado, but that number will be quickly shrinking as they announced plans to close at least five locations.
Closures include one store in Denver at 1430 S Colorado Blvd; one in Lakewood at 7111 W. Alameda Ave; one in Aurora at 10051 E. Iliff Ave.; the store in Fort Collins and the one in Canon City.
There’s been no official announcement from Big 5 on the closures, so dates for each one closing are only rumored at this time. Although, employees are reporting some of the stores will close as early as Jan. 18.
