In 2021, Logan Paul purchased a Pikachu Illustrator Pokémon card for what was then a record $5.275 million. This week, he then flipped that card and sold it for a new record $16.5 million!
The card, which was created in 1998 with only a few dozen existing and Paul’s being the only with a quality rating of “10,” sold after 41 days. The auction was held by Goldin Auctions, which is featured in the Peyton Manning-produced Netflix show “King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch.”
The card was sold to the son of former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci. A Guinness World Records adjudicator was present to confirm that the card is officially the highest priced trading card ever sold at auction.
