Like coffee? You might be a psychopath

Like black coffee?  Dark chocolate? A strong negroni?  Well, you might very well be a psychopath.

According to a 2016 study, there may be a correlation between people who enjoy bitter foods and beverages and having psychopathic, Machiavellian and sadistic traits. 

The study researched the taste preferences of almost 1000 Americans and asked about their preference of taste towards sweet, salty, sour and bitter foods and beverages.

The study also notes that “a preference for sweet tastes and an aversion to bitter and sour tastes have been demonstrated in human newborns and primate infants and adults”

On the other end of the spectrum, there have also been studies showing that people who enjoy sweet flavored foods have more “prosocial behaviors.”
