Late artist recipient of Musical Excellence Award and Kenny Chesney hits major milestone | Music City Minute

The late, great Jimmy Buffett is going to be honored with a special Musical Excellence Award during this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. This specific award celebrates “artists, musicians, songwriters and producers whose originality and influence creating music have had a dramatic impact on music.” The 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is set to take place on October 19.
Kenny Chesney has hit a career milestone worthy of royalty status. Chesney’s latest song, “Take Her Home,” has made it into the top ten on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, making it his 61st top ten hit. Do you know who else has 61 top ten hits? The King himself, George Strait. Congratulations to Chesney on this huge achievement! Even though he’s tied with the King of Country, I don’t know if he’s ever really going to inherit that title, however, Pirate King of Country does have a nice ring to it.
