Lainey Wilson almost makes impulse purchase, Hailey Whitters’ exciting news | Music City Minute

Aug 27, 2025, 3:51 PM | Updated: 3:53 pm

Lainey Wilson regularly gushes about how her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, keeps her grounded. For instance, the couple were at one of their favorite restaurants recently, which is located next to the Cumberland River. As they enjoyed their meal, they saw a person pull up on a jet ski. Wilson was inspired by the moment and declared they were going to buy the same watercraft, in turquoise, that day. However, by the time their check arrived, Hodges had talked the singer out of the expensive impulse buy. The ex-NFL player laid out excellent points such as they don’t live anywhere near water and her career has her so busy, she wouldn’t be home to ride it anyway.
Congratulations to Hailey Whitters and her husband Jake Gear, who are expecting their first baby! The soon-to-be mama and papa are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a little boy, due in November. There must be something in the water in Nashville, because several country families have welcomed bundles of joy this year including Cole Swindell, Lauren Alaina, Hardy and Hillary Scott of Lady A.
I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.
