Kane Brown: ‘Will you be my friend?’ | Music City Minute

Nearly every artist on Music Row at one point or another has described their experience in the industry as being a part of a big family. In fact, artists mentoring and supporting each other is one of the unique foundations of country culture. Yet, at the same time, Kane Brown admits that camaraderie does not necessarily translate into genuine friendship. While reflecting on his personal and professional life, the 32-year-old confessed he feels like an outsider who, despite all of his connections in Nashville, does not have a tight knit group of professional friends. Although Brown does enjoy frequently exchanging texts with Shaboozey, Chris Young, Morgan Wallen and Jason Aldean, understandably, he feels it’s just not the same as hanging out on the weekend, hitting the golf simulator, drinking a few beers and talking it up. At the end of the day though, the “What If” singer hasn’t completely given up on the prospect of a group of country buddies, declaring active recruitment is always open.
