Feb 14, 2025, 3:45 PM | Updated: Feb 19, 2025, 2:46 pm

If you drive on I-25 near Castle Rock, CO, be prepared to find a new route for the next couple of weeks possibly.

The town of Castle Rock is making progress on an interchange project that will require the placement of a new bridge over Interstate 25, and some closures to get the work done.

The first phase will close the West Frontage Road daily from Monday, Feb. 17 through Thursday, Feb. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Phase two will require overnight closures of I-25. The nighttime closures are scheduled for Sunday night, Feb. 23 through Wednesday night, Feb. 26.

On Feb. 23 and 24 from 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., southbound I-25 will be fully closed from Exit 181 to Exit 174 (Plum Creek Parkway to Tomah Road). To avoid the closure, I-25 traffic is encouraged to use Highway 83.

The town is also closing Crystal Valley Parkway fully to and from the East Frontage Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the overnight construction.

From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., northbound I-25 will be reduced to a single lane from Exit 174 to Exit 181 (Tomah Road to Plum Creek Parkway).

On Feb. 25 and 26 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Northbound I-25 will be fully closed from Exit 174 to Exit 181 (Tomah Road to Plum Creek Parkway).

On these same dates, Crystal Valley Parkway will be fully closed to and from East Frontage Road between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

East Frontage Road will not have a lane reduction in place during the nighttime closures.
