Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back at Starbucks, and that means it won’t be long until it’s time to go leaf-peeping in Colorado.

Because the weather has been a little warmer than average this year, there is good news and bad news. The bad news is the color changing will happen a little later than normal this years. The good news is it will be worth the wait because the warmth should make the colors more intense than normal.

The peak times to see the change will also depend on where you’re looking… Experts predict these will be the best times to go peeping in certain parts of our state;

  • Sept. 15-30: Rocky Mountain National Park, Steamboat Springs, Flat Tops
  • Sept. 17-Oct. 1: Vail, Summit County, Aspen, Gunnison, Grand Mesa
  • Sept. 19-Oct. 3: Northern San Juan Mountains, Southern San Juan Mountains, Sangre De Cristo Mountains
  • Early October: Denver
