Denver’s Elitch Gardens just opened for the season, so maybe some of the rides are still a little rusty from the cold off-season?

About 40 people got stuck on a ride at Elitches on Saturday afternoon.

According to FOX31, the group was suspended in the air on the Star Flyer ride – which stands 17 stories tall and spins riders on swings at the top – for about 45 minutes.

The Denver Fire Department responded to the incident, but their intervention was not necessary because park staff were able to lower the ride slowly.

The incident occurred as the ride was on the way down from the peak and was at a rescuable distance of about 20 feet. The ordeal happened as the park was closing.

No riders were injured in the incident.
