Garth Brooks releases new anthology just in time for Christmas, Reba McEntire has no time for gossipmongers | Music City Minute

What do you get the ultimate Garth Brooks fan in your family for Christmas? I have the answer for you, his latest book and CD combination. “The Anthology, Part VI: The Comeback, The Next Five Years,” takes fans behind the scenes to explore the planning and execution of Brooks’ Dive Bar Tour, Stadium Tour, drive-in concert series and essentially “wraps up” this chapter of his career. In all, the collection includes a gorgeous hardbound book; 60 songs spread out over six CDs and a limited-edition slipcase while supplies last. The new anthology will officially be released on Friday, December 5. Online purchase details and a special sneak-peek video can be found here.

Reba McEntire comedic timing is spot on, and so and so is her ability to squash a scandal. The “Fancy” singer was on the “Today” show talking about her sitcom, “Happy Place,” when the interview came to a screeching halt. Apparently, the host called Rex Linn her husband. McEntire quickly clarified she and Linn are only engaged, adding this was how rumors get started, ultimately leading to angry phone calls and texts from family. As far as when wedding bells will ring for the couple, all they will say is they are in no hurry.
