Are we at risk of having no pumpkin pie later this year during the holiday season!?
Following one of Colorado’s worst winter and spring with record drought conditions, the Sonrise Farm in Severance has been forced to cancel its pumpkin patch season.
The owners of the farm told 9News that that the decision is made this early because typically they would have already planted the pumpkin seeds weeks ago but the water availability coming up is so uncertain they made the decision not to plant this year.
This would have been Sonrise Farm’s 7th pumpkin patch season and they hope to return next year.
