Dolly Parton’s run-ins with the Royal Family | Music City Minute

Nov 13, 2024, 4:23 PM

Here in America, Dolly Parton is country music royalty, and she recently opened up about a missed experience with the future Queen of England. Last year, Dolly was invited to tea with the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton. Unfortunately, the “Rockstar” singer had to turn down the invitation because her schedule was too busy. However, Parton would like to make up for her absence by extending a formal invitation for the royal family to visit her kingdom in the hills, Dollywood. The “Jolene” singer said she would love to host the esteemed guests. The kids could check out all the rides and she would serve up her famous “mushed taters.” Interestingly, Parton has another connection to the royal family, when she had the opportunity to meet Queen Elizabeth during her Silver Jubilee back in 1977.
