Dolly Parton receives award and Reba McEntire gets experimental | Music City Minute

Nov 1, 2024, 3:11 PM

Dolly Parton is being honored by the U.S. Department of State and the Recording Academy with the PEACE Through Music Award! The Recording Academy CEO said the “9 to 5” singer is a perfect representation of the spirit of the award because, “For generations, she’s embodied the true meaning of inclusion, togetherness, understanding and service to people.”
Reba McEntire has shared a hilarious story involving her mother who passed away of cancer four years ago. The “Fancy” singer revealed how, while her mom was in treatment, THC gummies were part of her pain management plan. Before bed one night, Reba helped her mom with her medication including giving her half a gummy. Well, curiosity got the best of the country queen and she ate the other half. Later, when her mama woke up for a bathroom visit, Reba threw back the covers to get up and it was then that she knew she messed up. Thankfully, Reba could still perform basic tasks but after that night, she has steered clear of the potent candy.
