Denver’s last drive-in movie theater will be back for the 2025 season

Dec 9, 2024, 4:38 PM | Updated: Dec 10, 2024, 8:54 am

It was announced that after the 2023 season, the last drive-in movie theater in the Denver area would be closing… But we’re now done with the 2024 season, and there’s no end in sight for the 88 Drive In Theatre.

The Commerce City theater has been open since 1972, and the story was they’d close to make room for a large warehouse. There’s been no official comment about the future of the project by the theater, but they keep blessing us with the good news of reopening…

It happened earlier this spring when the theater announced they would reopen for 2024, and there’ll be no anticipation for next year now either. Upon closing for the season at the end of November, the theater announced on social media that they’ll, “See you in the Spring for our 49th Season!!”

Makes me think they have to go through at least the 2026 season, because you can’t get that close to 50 and not celebrate, but only time will tell if the theater will keep surprising us with more time to make memories!
