Denver’s Last Drive-In Movie Theater Might Not Be Closing at the End of This Season After All

Nov 7, 2023, 4:25 PM

It’s very well noted that the last drive-in movie theater in the Denver-metro area is closing for good. However, they’ve never said when they’ll be shutting down, so most of us just assumed it would be after this season… But not so fast!

In a post on the 88 Drive In Theatre Facebook page last light they said, “This will be our Final weekend of THIS season!! We’ll be back in the spring!!” They have since edited out the second sentence about being back in the spring, but still highlight “THIS” when saying it’ll be the last weekend of this season.

As mentioned, there has been no official word on when the theater will close for good, but this could be good news for movie lovers next spring/summer.

As far as this season goes, the theater says this weekend (November 10, 11, and 12) will be the last for the season. They’ll be playing National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Five Nights At Freddy’s, and there will be a special guest appearance from Cousin Eddy on Friday night.
