Ball Arena to offer $5 concession options after complaints about inflated prices

It’s no secret that eating at a pro sporting event is a ripoff, but it’s about to get better in Denver!

Ball Arena is rolling out lower food prices for popular items this fall, addressing fan complaints about some of the highest concession costs among major sports venues in the Denver area.

The arena’s new “fan friendly menu” offers stadium staples for $5, including hot dogs previously priced at $7.50, pretzels previously priced $8 and fountain sodas previously priced at $6.50.

The most dramatic change affects beer prices: 20 ounces of select domestic draft beer will now cost $10 for sporting events only, making Ball Arena’s domestic draft beer the cheapest among Denver’s major sports venues at $0.50  per ounce.

The new menu

  • Hot dog – $5
  • Cheese nacho – $5
  • Popcorn – $5
  • Candy – $5
  • Fries – $5
  • Jumbo pretzel – $5

(Available outside Sections 112 and 319 and Colorado Social Grab and Go on the club level)

The new beer pricing undercuts both Coors Field and Empower Field at Mile High, which charge $0.55 per ounce. Ball Arena previously had the most expensive beer at $0.70 per ounce.

The price cuts follow a trend among sports venues nationwide. The Utah Mammoth in the NHL and Phoenix Suns in the NBA offer $2 and $3 menu items. While Ball Arena won’t go that low, the reductions represent a break for fans.

The $10 domestic draft beer promotion includes Coors, Coors Light, Michelob Ultra and Avalanche Ale.
