According to Wikipedia, a speakeasy is a “hidden or secret bar or nightclub that was popular during the Prohibition era (1920-1933) in the United States, where alcoholic beverages were illegally sold and consumed.” So why are they putting one at Denver International Airport (DIA) in 2025?
Well, the the concept of the speakeasy has been revived in some modern bars, which often feature hidden entrances, intimate atmospheres, and classic cocktails, paying homage to the Prohibition era. And I guess if you have to be at an airport why not waste the time at one?
Williams & Graham is a popular speakeasy in Denver, and they will open their newest location at DIA on the A concourse sometime this April.
If you can’t wait until then or until your next flight, Williams & Graham is currently open on Tejon Street in Denver in the LoHi neighborhood. It has been named one of the best cocktail bars in the U.S.
